One of the top employers in Connecticut is hiring for a temporary HR Generalist...OVERALL OBJECTIVEThe Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and working closely with HR Management. -This position carries out responsibilities in support of the following functional areas: Leave Administration, Benefits/Compensation Administration, Employee Relations, Training, Performance Management, Onboarding, Policy Implementation, Recruitment/Selection and Employment Law Compliance.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manages leave administration by serving as a subject matter expert regarding the leave programs and process. Coordinates operational and administrative aspects of the leave process, including providing leave information, answering employee and manager questions, working closely with Payroll to ensure pay is accurate, and all other applicable tasks. Partners closely with HRBPs, as needed, on cases/claims to develop legally sound strategies for a mutually beneficial solution. -
  • Serves as a first point of HR contact to employees, and consults with employees on any employee relations issues. -Advises and supports employees in working through issues with their co-workers and/or managers as appropriate. -
  • Manages escalated employment issues. Conducts fact-finding processes, evaluates for risk and in accordance with core values, and advises appropriate actions. -
  • Supports and/or participates in organizational development projects and initiatives. -Works collaboratively to build or manage tools and/or training that creates greater efficiency and effectiveness for the organization. -Identifies, creates, and/or adapts processes within HR for optimal effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Administers various human resource policies and procedures; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs. -
  • Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary. Participates in selected compensation benchmark surveys and partners with management with benchmarking jobs, as needed.
  • Performs benefits administration and communicates benefit information to employees. -
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; maintain other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations. -
  • Partners with Unemployment Claims Vendor on all unemployment claims. -
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. -
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
