Where would you step in? -
As a valuable member of our Environment team, you will join the Wetlands and Ecological Services Group and will work with an experienced team of project managers, scientists, and engineers throughout the Environment Business Line. You will sit in either the Middletown or Shelton, Connecticut office. We offer a hybrid work environment and flexible Fridays in the summer. -Our Environment Team and Projects -
Our Environment group is nearly 100 strong throughout our Northeast offices. The work we do covers site assessment, remediation, wetland science, regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, and other ways we can support client work with state and local governments, utilities, private clients, industry, colleges, and hospitals. -What will you be doing? -
You will be doing a mixture of field work, report preparation, permit application preparation, mentoring, business development and client contact. You'll be involved in wetland delineation, restoration, and mitigation design; freshwater and coastal wetland permitting; resource assessment for coastal and inland systems; environmental compliance monitoring; public hearing presentations; and business development and proposal support. You will also help support and mentor junior staff. -What do you need? -
You'll need a BS or MS degree in a natural sciences field with coursework in biology, hydrology, botany, and soils. You should have prior consulting and client management experience and be qualified to meet the Soil Scientist criteria of the Connecticut Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Act. You should have a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification or the ability to obtain the same and have applied knowledge of Connecticut and federal wetland regulatory programs, both inland and coastal wetland permitting, and experience presenting projects to municipal boards. You should have demonstrated ability in field data collection and analysis, and technical writing skills. If you had certifications such as Certified Wildlife Biologist (CWB) or Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), that would be helpful. -Ways to grow your career
