Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance Specialist performs ongoing monitoring of
quality improvement activities and compliance with all applicable
1115 Waiver Demonstration Project contractual requirements. This
position works under the direct supervision of the Quality
Assurance & Improvement Director, and assists in the daily
operations of the Quality Management Department in support of the
1115 Waiver Demonstration Project. The Quality Assurance Specialist
will work closely with the QI Director and IT Department in the
development of specialized reports needed for evaluating the impact
of training and monitoring activities. This position will represent
ABH - and its services in a positive and professional manner and
adhere to ABH -'s best practices, guidelines, policies and
procedures as established, promoting ABH as a leader in behavioral
healthcare in all interactions and work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and maintains various databases and measurement mechanisms
for the collection, analysis, and reporting of quality improvement
initiatives & activities;
Analyzes results of data documented on Chart Review and Site
Monitoring Tools and during training activities using sound
methodologies;
Prepares clear and comprehensive analysis reports related to
summary of results of Chart Reviews and Site Visits in a timely
manner, submitting completed reports to the QI Director;
Assists with preparation/updating of training materials, in
collaboration with QI Director and Clinical Care Team Leader;
Tracks and trends provider performance as demonstrated in
aggregated chart review data, site monitoring and technical
assistance visits;
Develops and maintains various databases and measurement mechanisms
for the collection, analysis, and reporting of quality improvement
initiatives & activities;
Maintains confidentiality of all client protected health
information and adheres to all HIPAA related reviews, goal setting,
etc;
Demonstrates ethical behavior and cultural sensitivity in all
activities involving individuals of diverse backgrounds;
Performs other tasks/responsibilities as required to support the
business operations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in health sciences or related field, and 2+ years
experience in HMO/health insurance or behavioral health service
provision required;
Attends annual conflict of interest training.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Ability to work well independently and in collaboration with other
staff members to meet reporting deadlines;
Demonstrated ability to manage various data collection
methodologies, information analyses, and produce clear report
presentations;
Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to
shifting demands;
Strong attention to detail; ability to work on multiple tasks and
meet deadlines;
Excellent PC skills with demonstrated experience using Microsoft
Office Package (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook);
internet;
Strong written and verbal skills required.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required
to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other
locations and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and
manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10 - 20
pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger
dexterity, including ability to grasp and visual acuity to use a
keyboard, operate equipment and read application information. The
associate frequently is required sit, reach with hands and arms,
talk and hear.
Regularity and consistency of attendance is essential to ensure
high quality service and ultimately a productive department and
company.
