We are also very proud to be a VECCS Level I certified emergency & critical care facility.In this role the Charge Capture Specialist will be responsible for reviewing clinical charges from veterinarians from our specialty practice. The Charge Capture Specialist will provide feedback to doctors and staff, while ensuring charges for all services are appropriately captured in a timely manner.This person will work heavily with both our medical team and our accounting team, therefore excellent communication is key. Familiarity with Excel and an ability to learn and confidently use different types of software is essential. Strong computer skills are a must for this role.
This will be a full-time position, scheduled Monday through Friday, and may include a weekend day. Proficiency in medical terminology and/or billing/coding is a great plus, but there will be a lot of training for this role.
SOME OF THE PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Charge capture; reviewing doctor's clinical records to reflect accurate invoiced charges.
  • Create estimates
  • Notify doctors of invoices that are either over estimate or approaching estimate
  • Audit outpatient invoices for trends and report accordingly
  • Minimal contact with clients, may occasionally answer questions
  • Perform other duties as assignedSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
    • Customer service skills: Ability to provide friendly, efficient service to both clients and other staff members. Considerable tact and diplomacy is required.
    • Interpersonal skills: Ability to feel comfortable dealing with clients, staff, and others.
    • Reliability: Regular attendance and timeliness are essential functions in order to fulfill the requirements of this position.
      POSITION REQUIREMENTS
      • Minimum one (1) year veterinary experience or hospital or physician office with experience in veterinary billing, medical coding, or other billing experience strongly preferred
      • Electronic records experience preferred
      • Strong customer service skills, including excellent phone and interpersonal communication skills
      • Excellent active and attentive listening skills
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
      • Compassionate, caring, and empathetic to clients and patients in all situations
      • Ability to learn, understand, and adhere to hospital policies, while finding creative solutions to problems
      • Financial knowledge regarding estimates, statements, and payment plans
      • Strong attention to detail
      • Strong computer and organizational skills
      • Schedule will be full-time and may include one weekend day per week Pay: $14-$16/hr. depending on level of experienceBenefits:
