The Feminist, Gender and Sexuality Studies program at Wesleyan
University seeks to hire a tenure-track assistant professor
beginning July 2022, with substantive research and teaching
interests in the areas of Race, Gender and Sexuality and/or
Transnational and Global Feminisms, broadly construed. Feminist,
Gender and Sexuality Studies is an interdisciplinary program
offering an undergraduate major in the study of gender and
sexuality as categories of analysis and experience within the broad
matrices of race, class, ethnicity, and nation. Wesleyan is a
highly selective liberal arts college that values both scholarship
and teaching very highly, has a strong, diverse undergraduate

The Assistant Professor will teach core courses required for the
major, including an introductory level Gateway course in gender and
sexuality studies and/or Feminist Theories, as well as other
courses in their area of specialization, and will carry a 2/2
teaching load. Additional duties include advising and mentoring
students, carrying on a program of research, and participating in
faculty governance at the departmental and university level.
