Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Structure Engineer, located
in Middletown, CT, responsible for the following, but not limited
Support flight safety and other root cause investigations.
Provide technical recommendations in support of Customer
Technical Service (CTS) inquiries.
Execute structural analysis of Fan, Low-Pressure Compressor
(LPC), and High-Pressure Compressor (HPC) components via hand
calculations and finite element analysis, using the latest P&W
structural best practices, analytical tools, and engineering
Work closely with all engineering disciplines on the Integrated
Product Team (IPT), including Global Services Engineering (GSE), to
identify balanced solutions to technical risks.
Take ownership of assigned tasks and works autonomously to drive
timely task execution.
Communicate analysis results and recommendations to the IPT,
Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT), and other internal and
Document analysis results and recommendations in the form of
formal reports and presentations to management and customers.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced
engineers in the group.
BS Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
experience and 5+ years of prior relevant engineering experience
Advanced Degree in a related field and 3+ years engineering
Travel up to 10%.
- US Citizenship required due to government contracts.
M. Eng. or M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
Ability to propose innovative solutions to complex engineering
Strong focus on results with the ability to drive tasks to
Proficiency in structural finite element methods
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated success working effectively and independently in a
fast-paced, team environment.
