Currently this position is both on-ground and online as we continue to face the challenges of COVID, in the future, without COVID concerns, the schedule will be on ground.ANTICIPATEDSTARTING DATE:July 2021 POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Non-Credit Programs is the strategic position at the college responsible for non-credit and community service programs. This position directs part-time and full-time program coordinators, part-time faculty and clerical support personnel in conducting research and needs assessment, program and instructional design, curriculum development, program implementation, and assessment of the quality of courses, workshops, seminars and other forms of credit-free instruction and training at a community college.Community College Professionals and Faculty are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree in an appropriately relevant field with two years of experience applying those disciplines in a field related to adult education administration or business; or a combination of education, training, and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position's essential duties. The successful candidate must have experience, knowledge, and abilities in the following: Curriculum design in an adult learning environment.Academic administration.Marketing, business development, public relations or a related field. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Five (5) years of experience in a field related to adult education administration or business.Two (2) years of experience in workforce developmentTwo (2) years of supervisory experience.Five (5) years of experience in a field related to adult education administration or business.Two (2) years of experience in workforce developmentTwo (2) years of supervisory experience supervising professional employees.Professional experience in a unionized environment EXAMPLE OF JOB DUTIES: Under the direction of the Chief Regional Workforce Development Officer, the Director of Non-Credit Programs is responsible for development and administration of continuing education programs for adult, youth and senior citizens in the College's service areas by effective performance in these essential functional areas: Researching and analyzing the continuing education needs of learners in the College's service area; designing, developing and marketing non-credit and continuing education programs which meet the workforce, educational, recreational and training needs and interests of the communities served by the College within the realm of appropriateness and capabilities of the College; providing an appropriately qualified staff and part-time faculty and for assuring their effective performance; management of financial resources and for the value of services provided with those resources.In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the incumbent is required to carry out the essential duties of: Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies; Service on assigned committees and task forces; Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings. STARTING SALARY: $73,292 approximate annual plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits.
