Job Description Job Description Role Overview The Local Logistics Coordinator serves as the operational command center for daily moves. This individual is responsible for dispatching crews, coordinating logistics, managing service escalations, and ensuring every move runs efficiently and professionally. This role requires composure under pressure, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts simultaneously. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly with both field teams and customers, and takes ownership of operational outcomes. Key Responsibilities • Dispatch movers and drivers daily, ensuring crews have accurate job details, inventory information, building requirements, and required materials/equipment • Monitor moves in progress and proactively manage scheduling adjustments, delays, and route changes • Serve as the primary point of contact for foremen, drivers, helpers, and customers throughout move day • Respond quickly to service changes, access issues, emergency situations, and operational challenges • Support quality control standards by ensuring crews adhere to FlatRate processes and service expectations • Troubleshoot on-site issues in real time and implement solutions that protect both customer experience • De-escalate customer concerns and work toward professional, amicable resolutions • Prepare, print, revise, and close contracts and move documentation accurately • Maintain accurate daily reports, operational logs, and Excel-based tracking sheets • Review completed jobs to ensure billing accuracy and proper job closure • Collaborate closely with Customer Service, Sales, and Warehouse teams to ensure seamless execution • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within Local Operations • Maintain full working knowledge of FlatRate technology platforms, dispatch systems, and operational policies • Participate in required meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews Qualifications • Must Be available nights and weekends • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, moving, or trucking preferred • Experience in dispatching or operations coordination strongly preferred • Strong leadership presence and ability to manage field personnel professionally • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills • Ability to remain composed and solutions-focused in high-pressure situations • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word); ability to learn dispatch and CRM systems quickly • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment Company Description FlatRate Moving® is a nationally recognized moving and relocation company with over 30 years of experience serving New York City and beyond.
