Job Description:
The Department of Biological Sciences at Seton Hall University
is seeking applicants interested in a full-time position for
academic advising of undergraduate dual degree and nursing majors.
The advisor will advise approximately 300 undergraduate students,
provide registration PIN numbers to their advisees as appropriate,
file necessary paperwork associated with advisees (e.g. Curriculum
Adjustment Forms, Course Adjustment Forms, Applications for
Overload, etc.), meet with students regarding grading and other
academic concerns, assist at recruitment events and in contacting
incoming students, and keep records of all paperwork and activities
pertaining to advisement. Orientation and guidance can be obtained
from consultation with Biology Dept’s Coordinator for Academic
Advising; coordinator will also provide list of advisees. Duties
and Responsibilities: Responding promptly to emails, phone calls,
or other correspondence from students, faculty, and administrators;
Document Advising; Academic and Career Advising; Attend Recruitment
Events. Advisor will guide work of others who perform essentially
the same work. May organize, set priorities, schedule and review
work, but will have no responsibility to hire, terminate, review
performance or make pay decisions Required Qualifications:
Required- BS Degree- appropriate Field of Study Relevant work
experience 1-3 years Desired Qualifications: MS Degree- appropriate
Field of Study Salary Range: $48,000 - $66,000 Exempt/Nonexempt:
