Job Description:
Description:This exciting role is a blend of payroll (50%) and
accounting (50%). The ideal candidate has experience in both
accounting and payroll; is highly detailed and a self starter.
Duties include:
- Process accurate and timely payroll for hourly, salaried, and
temporary employees; including reviewing and importing hours from
time and attendance system, reviewing, approving and/or entering
tax and direct deposit information, administering regulatory
requirements, e.g., garnishments, tax levies, and support orders,
and other adjustments to pay as necessary.
- Assist with tax and SUI set up for new states and
localities.
- Ensure all interfaces are working as expected; to include
pushing through changes from or to outside interfaces.
- Pay any expenses, ensuring proper approval is attained.
- Respond to all unemployment claims and verifications of
employment in a timely manner, working with Human Resources to
insure appropriate response.
- Maintain accurate employee records in payroll/HRIS
systems.
- Produces scheduled and ad-hoc reports pertaining to payroll,
finance, and human resources requirements.
- Accounting duties including but not limited to monthly bank
reconciliation and sales and tax usage. Accounting duties will be
based on the candidates background and experience. Requirements:
- At least one year of experience in Payroll Administration for
100+ exempt and non-exempt, multiple state employees.
- At least one year experience in accounting or bookkeeping for
similar sized organizations. Experience with Sales and Use tax, or
bank reconciliation a plus.
- Strong knowledge of computer software applications, including
HRIS/Payroll systems. Experience with Paylocity a plus.
- Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle
sensitive and confidential situations.
- Strong understanding of Human Resources processes and
terminology, payroll processes and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively
communicate with teams across the entire organization
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and
