About the Role As an Associate in our Merchandising department, you will own all merchandising activities for a set of product lines, from assortment design, demand forecasting, and global sourcing to inventory management, pricing strategy, and category performance management. Reporting to the Director of Merchandising, you will be a dynamic, self-driven, and highly analytical thinker positioned at the heart of our commercial go to market efforts. You should be comfortable working with complex datasets, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and owning diverse functional activities to achieve superior business results on your assigned product portfolio. You will be joining a growing, fast-paced team that is actively defining new opportunities and best practices for our commercial operations.Key responsibilities include: Market Insights & Demand Forecasting: Partner with Sales and Commercial Intelligence colleagues to understand market dynamics, identify assortment opportunities, and define run rate forecasts Assortment Design: Curate the optimal assortment within your assigned product lines, continuously monitor item velocity, test new item additions for velocity improvement, and champion adoption of new industry product innovations Sourcing, Procurement, Inventory Management: Identify reliable, cost-effective sources globally, construct the optimal global sourcing network (with redundancies), and ensure adequate inventory in line with demand forecasts Costing, Pricing, and Promotion: Maintain accurate costing information, define and continually manage pricing optimized for margin and competitiveness, and design and execute promotional offers in line with sales strategies Category Performance Management: Establish and manage product velocity targets, diagnose drivers of underperformance, dynamically manage pricing and promotion to improve velocity, and partner with Sales to ensure activation in the field90-day success expectations include: Ability to extract and analyze historical sales data to forecast demand and monitor commercial performance vs. target Understanding of assortment dynamics and XSE marketing positioning, demonstrated by the ability to weigh assortment trade-offs with the context of competing commercial and operational priorities Ability to process POs for product orders, manage relationships with existing vendors, and maintain a 98% in stock rate on assigned SKUs Understanding of our costing and pricing philosophy and procedures, demonstrated by the ability to execute a routine quarterly price review Familiarity with our datasets and reporting systems, demonstrated by the ability to consistently monitor commercial performance on assigned product lines and identify gaps vs. target Proficiency in our ERP system (JD Edwards), CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) Job Requirements At least 2-5 years' work experience in a data-driven business role required Preference for experience in a manufacturing, wholesale/distribution, or retail company in a merchandising, revenue management, business analytics, or product/assortment/category management function Bachelor's degree from a top tier college or university required Proficiency in Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel required Demonstrated enthusiasm for and expression of our corporate values: _Growth Mindset: _ you never assume the status quo is best; you see what is possible instead of what isn't and develop a plan to make it reality _Technologically Fluent: _you integrate best practice technological solutions into your work to improve productivity; you always want to learn more about the best technology available and can credibly advise others on technological solutions _Customer First: _ you value relationships as the foundation of business; you aspire to exceed expectations in every client interaction; you constantly look for ways to stand out and add value as a business partner Ability to work onsite in a hybrid remote structure at our Middletown, Connecticut, headquarters Benefits Total annual compensation of $55,000-$75,000 depending on experience Comprehensive wellness benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance Employer-sponsored 401(k) plan and life insurance Employee discount programs Paid vacation, holiday, and sick time IT Equipment Policy We provide a full desktop technology set up for employees working in one of our offices.
