American Medical Response (AMR) is seeking an EMS Call Receiver to join our dedicated Emergency Services team. In this role, you will engage in a key aspect of emergency management, handling and prioritizing emergency calls to ensure the swift and effective dispatch of EMS units. You will be responsible for receiving emergency calls, determining the nature and location of emergencies, providing pre-arrival instructions, and coordinating with field units. A H.S. Diploma or equivalent is required, with certifications like the Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) being advantageous. Prioritize and dispatch emergency units as necessary and in accordance with established procedures. Maintain accurate and detailed records of calls received. Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers for emergency medical situations. Coordinate with field units and provide necessary information during emergencies. Utilize communication and computer equipment effectively under stress.
