Job Description Summary:Community Health Center, Inc. In addition, the organization has developed three wholly owned subsidiaries from the original pilot developments within the Weitzman Institute: the National Nurse Practitioner Residency and Fellowship Training Consortium (NNPRFTC), the National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement (NIMAA), and the ConferMED Network.Job Description:Coordinates and performs all aspects of accounts receivable collection and reprocessing of claims. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Audits and resolves accounts with credit balancesAudits and resolves accounts with outstanding balances and determines disposition of delinquent accountsAudits and resolves accounts with credit balancesPerforms necessary rebilling or adjusting on accountsResponds to patient inquiries regarding process of servicesCross trains within department to provide coverage when necessaryCollaborates with Office Mgr's regarding quality of data obtained by office staff, healthcare providers.Organizes work load to achieve a high level of productivityNotifies Manager of information that negatively impacts productionAssist with special projects as needed QUALIFICATIONS Associate's Degree in Health Information Management Systems or related field required, with 1+ years experience in a healthcare billing and collections office OR Coding Certification/Billing Certificate Program (AAPC's CPC or AHIMA's CCA) with 2+ yrs experience in a healthcare billing and collections office In-depth knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes, Medicare and Medicaid billing rules, insurance reimbursement methods, the claims appeal process, understanding of managed care contracts and capitation payments.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and electronic e-mail systems.Location:Middletown ION Building - Finance & Patient AccountsCity:MiddletownState:ConnecticutTime Type:Full time
