AvenueSummary:The Program Director of Community Engagement will be
responsible for developing, launching, and administering a
comprehensive and innovative social services and outreach program
at the Betances housing developments. Additionally, the Program
Director will support the 2nd Farms development by providing
guidance and limited oversight to the team.The Program Director
will work closely with the Department Director, staff, volunteers,
interns, and the residents to oversee a comprehensive program that
seeks to increase social, economic, and physical well-being, that
promotes stability and a sense of community engagement.Salary:
$80,000 - $85,000 annuallyEssential Duties and
Responsibilities:Betances Houses:
--- Develop a comprehensive community outreach and engagement
program that they will lead, including a
program of services that moves beyond navigating immediate crises
toward building sustainable and resilient livelihoods, thereby
strengthening long-term housing stability.
--- Develop a relationship with residents, gaining an understanding
of their needs, and providing access to assistance (via
relationships with other local agencies, community-based
organizations, and other resources available via Catholic Charities
and locally).
--- Coordinate an array of educational, community building, and
recreational activities for residents, including activities that
build capacity and self-sufficiency.
--- Provide supervision and support of on-site case management
staff and ensure that services are consistent with agency
standards.
--- Engage with local stakeholders to promote access to
services.
--- Conduct needs assessments based on routine "grass roots"
engagement with the residents and community- based organizations,
focus groups, an evaluation of available demographic data, census
data and surveys, and make recommendations.
--- Collaborate with management to develop a communications
strategy that ensures a high quality of life in the buildings.
Second Farms:--- Provide supervision to the Case Manager.
--- Assist with the coordination of community engagement
events.
--- Maintain relationships with residents, local agencies,
community-based organizations and other resources.
--- Establish and maintain Relationship with Building
Management.
HSS Department:--- Develop and maintain documentation practices,
collect and identify data trends.
--- Adhere to all COS Division policies and procedures.
--- Other duties as assigned.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time
position. Days and hours of work vary, and could include evening
hours, as required to meet program deadlines and/or client
needs.Working conditions and physical demands:
Must be able to travel between residential sites (in outside
weather conditions, walking or taking public transportation as
needed, ascending/descending stairs), as well as sit at a work
station and use a computer.
Assess and work in varied home environmental conditions; interact
with clients or residents who require consistent and comprehensive
support, some under potentially stressful
