Community High School (SBCHS)Reports to: Senior Vice President,
Partnership SchoolsLocation: 173 Conover Street, Brooklyn, NY
11231Hours: 35 Hours/Week; ExemptJob Summary: SBCHS staff are

oversees the 12-month operation of the school in partnership with
the Principal to promote the education and post-secondary goals of
our students. Our mission is to provide youth who face the greatest
obstacles to successful high school completion with the supports,
experiences and opportunities they need to graduate prepared to be
socially responsible young adults ready to participate fully in the
life of their communities. SBCHS is committed to providing students
with a quality academic experience that prepares them for

re-engages students in their education?Major Duties:
- Inspire, motivate and build relationships with a wide variety
of students, families, staff and other school stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Principal to set and refine school vision
and mission, set policies and goals; schedule daily school
activities.
- Supervise GSS staff and provide professional development to all
SBCHS staff on Youth and Family Development, trauma informed care,
restorative practices and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
- Monitor recruitment and outreach to prospective students to
ensure ongoing enrollment of 200 students. Collaborate with school
leadership to design and facilitate student orientation and
engagement activities. Plan, co-facilitate and attend staff
retreats, full staff meetings and team meetings.
- Create and maintain contracts, monitor compliance and meet
reporting requirements.
- Create and maintain partnerships with external organizations in
support of student's success; attend meetings as necessary.
- Collaborate with the Principal to create a cohesive team
culture, where staff work together to create a positive learning
community and connect to post-secondary options.
- Prepare and monitor budget in conjunction with GSS leadership
and Finance Departments.
- Oversee the use of the school database and the routine use of
data for oversight and decision making in support of student
achievement.
- Collaborate with GSS general office team and support
structures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
- Master's in social work, or similar, preferred plus deep
knowledge of positive youth development and trauma informed or
restorative practices.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience required in a
leadership capacity in a context serving vulnerable student
populations.
- Ability to motivate, excite, inspire and educate staff, youth
and other stakeholders.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Proven track record as a leader, including supervising staff,
leading teams of adults, fostering a positive culture and managing
a team toward ambitious, measurable results.
- Experience implementing trauma informed and or restorative
practices strongly preferred. Ability to clearly articulate a
vision and influence key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement new protocols and
procedures.
- Capacity to work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously,
transitioning easily between independent work and team
contribution.
- Willingness to work late hours and occasional weekends and
overnight retreats. Sense of humor and relentless optimism to bring
joy to challenging work.
- Passion and experience cultivating success in students who have
disengaged from other educational environments and inspiring staff
to do the same.
- An innovative spirit, growth mindset and confidence to embrace
the challenge of creating a totally new school.
