The Wesleyan is hiring Certified Nursing Assistants to work at our Hospice Department . As a Certified Nursing Assistant at The Wesleyan, you will be a part of a mission and values-based organization that provides endless opportunities for career growth. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following is not an exclusive list of responsibilities. The list of essential duties and responsibilities is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed. Incumbents may be required to perform other job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this job description. Provide direct patient care to patient under direction of the RN and according to the Aide Plan of Care. Provide necessary skills to assist the patient with safe transfers and ambulation per agency policy. Provide necessary skill to appropriately report changes and document pertinent information and care rendered to patient to ensure continuity of care. Promote positive, supportive, respectful communication to patient/family and other employees. Provide an environment which promotes respect for patient, privacy and property. Provide skills necessary to assist the patient with proper nutrition and adequate fluid intake. Contribute to the management and efficient operation of the agency and demonstrate effective time management skills. Provide skills necessary to perform treatments and procedures according to agency policy. Appropriate, infection control principles and techniques in personal hygiene and grooming that include: Bed bath Sponge, tub, or shower bath Shampoo, sink, tub, or bed Nail and skin care Oral hygiene; and Toileting and elimination Safe transfer techniques and ambulation; Normal range of motion and positions; Adequate nutrition and fluid intake Any other tasks the agency may choose to have the aide perform in accordance with Subchapter G. Participate in in-service classes as assigned and complete 12 hours of in-service as per federal regulation. Attend meetings as required by agency - IDT. Follows Aide Plan of Care as per Subchapter G and agency policy. Completes documentation of care per agency policy. Reports accidents promptly per agency policy. Complies with all agency requirements. Complies with reporting mechanisms within agency. Adheres to personnel and client policies. GENERAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain confidentiality of The Wesleyan and facility information. Follow Client's Rights policies at all times maintaining privacy, confidentiality and respect. Ability to understand and comply with applicable Federal, State and local regulations as they apply to this job. Attend all required department and/or facility meetings. Adhere to applicable laws, rules, regulations and Code of Conduct directed by Corporate Compliance Program, conduct business using ethical standards, and report any suspect or actual event or circumstance to the Compliance Officer. Understand and comply with use and disclosure rules of resident Protected Health Information (PHI) as required by the HIPAA Privacy Rule of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Demonstrates leadership and problem-solving skills. Supports mission statement, philosophies, and objectives promoting safe delivery of home health/hospice/PAS services. Reports to work promptly as scheduled without absences. Maintains a professional appearance and a business-like attitude. Functions within the job description of his/her position. Complies with agency policies set forth in the Code of Conduct and Employee Handbook. Work cooperatively with all community members* and willingly accept assigned duties. Report any possible problem or concern regarding community members* to Executive Director/Administrator immediately. Perform any other related duties as directed by Executive Director/Administrator. *community members (staff, clients, families, and vendors) QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Provide evidence of appropriate credentials:
  • A Texas Department of Health approved Aide course and must keep Certificate current
  • Employability determination by a criminal record check.
  • Available for rotating weekend assignments.
  • Provides own reliable transportation.
  • Personality attuned to the requirements of meeting needs of the infirm and aged.
  • Ability to observe and report changes.
  • Demonstrates clinical competence.
  • Must be able to take directions and supervision both verbal and written.
  • Physically and mentally capable of performing job related duties.
  • Must be in good health and free of communicable diseases.
  • Must be able to give written and oral instruction in good English.
  • Must be able to hear and understand the English language, with/without assistive devices.
  • Requires sight with/without assistive device for observation of client.
  • Must be able to ambulate to and from client's place of residence from varying surfaces as well as balance/coordination/ strength to assist others without those disabilities.
  • Valid Driver's License and current liability insurance.
