We deliver more than 500,000 patient visits per year from primary care hubs and community clinics across the state of CT, all connected by technology and common standards for quality. We employ several hundred medical, dental, and behavioral health providers who are engaged in practice, teaching, and research. Our Weitzman Institute is devoted to research and practice transformation and is recognized around the country as one of the premier research institutes focused on improving health care and health outcomes for special and vulnerable populations. In addition, the organization has developed three wholly owned subsidiaries from the original pilot developments within the Weitzman Institute: the National Nurse Practitioner Residency and Fellowship Training Consortium (NNPRFTC), the National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement (NIMAA), and ConferMed.Job Description:*This position may have the need or ability to work remotely temporarily and possibly permanently. Qualified Candidates/Employees will need to have the ability to work remotely from a home office or work space, including having internet capability.*Oversees the design and execution of Community Health Center's telehealth and tele-education strategies. Develops a cross-functional team and roadmap for delivering statewide and national telehealth services that are user-friendly, market competitive, and cohesive. Directs state-of-the-art telehealth solutions and programs for patients, clinicians, and client organizations. Understands clinical workflows in ambulatory and home-based environments and follows healthcare and educational technology trends. Identifies, develops, accelerates and continually improves telehealth services including, but not limited to primary and specialty care, health and wellness, pediatrics, urgent care, home care, case management, and population health. Candidate is a visible leader with direct oversight over virtual care programs/projects and employees, ensuring continuity with IT, business development, marketing, clinician education, operations, contracting, billing, reimbursement, legal and compliance. Leads change management to transform healthcare for patients and tele-education for employees and client organizations. Builds mutually positive relationships with leadership, payers, and community and state leaders to influence telehealth legislation, reimbursement, and service expansion in the greater Northeast and nationwide.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct the planning, organizing, developing, implementing, and controlling functions as the leader of the cross-functional telehealth team.
  • Translate strategic goals and objectives into operational plans. Establish project management processes to execute new projects and programs and monitor established telehealth modalties. Ensure projects are implemented within budget and on time to support clinical and business aims identified by executive stakeholders.
  • Direct pre-go live preparation and training, including, but not limited to, clinician and staff education, documentation and billing, legal, compliance and marketing.
  • Direct telehealth data management and distribution to relevant parties; collect, monitor, and analyze data frequently to analyze trends and success to plan.
  • Accountable for the development of project documentation for senior executives and other key clients to facilitate sharing of project outcomes and best practices, presenting to various senior level audiences as requested
  • Work closely with the IT team to vet software, define requirements, negotiate vendor contracts, scope projects, test and implement equipment
  • Participate in grant submissions, pricing, market analyses and payor negotiations
  • Participate in the development of client organization contracts, including current state analysis, capital and operating needs, workflows, and compliance with applicable state and federal laws.
  • Oversee the standardization of patient and provider telehealth training. Direct the redesign and maintenance of the CHC telehealth page and social media presence, partnering with Marketing. Work closely with clinical and operational teams to standardize clinician training requirements and develop processes to track and monitor training completion status.
  • Ensure provider and client satisfaction by receiving and escalating inquiries, suggestions, complaints and compliments from staff, patients, and management.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on telehealth regulations, reimbursement and trends for the organization. Communicate relevant payor updates, state and federal policy changes, telehealth provider compact changes, and competitor and peer use cases to executive stakeholders.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the market and patient/client needs, identifying new areas of clinical utilization for telehealth activities.
  • Maintain knowledge base of applicable regulations, funding opportunities, and standards to aid staff in achieving compliance.
  • Function as a change agent and advocate for telehealth, seeking ways to engage all end users. Lead the push to sustain and propose favorable telehealth legislation across the Northeast and nationwide.
  • Champion continuous improvement through ongoing optimization, development and augmentationQUALIFICATIONS
    • Advanced degree, e.g., Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration with a minimum of Project Management Professional (PMP certification) preferred.
    • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in healthcare operations with increasing levels of responsibility. Recent experience developing, launching, managing, and growing telehealth projects and programs.
    • Must have excellent priority management skills and the ability to consistently meet organizational / departmental deadlines and objectives
    • Strong operational and change management skills, with the ability to build relationships across clinical and functional areas. Operations knowledge and capabilities including developing workflows and operational solutions for new programs, services and initiatives.
    • Able to navigate a complex, matrixed organization in the face of ambiguity
    • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills; able to communicate complexities to all levels of stakeholders and multiple audiences
    • Proven leadership skills with ability to build, lead, motivate, and inspire teams from development to on-time/in-budget deliverables.
    • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products
    • Experience with tele-education platforms, Centricity and E Clinical Works preferred.
    • PMP preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
      • Position may be remote, on site, or combination of both.
      • Combination of sustained periods of sitting at keyboard, walking and stair climbing
      • Minimal lifting and carrying activitiesCOMMUNICATION SKILLS
        • Bilingual a plus.
