Job Description:
The Program Manager is responsible for the Management and for
the successful and efficient delivery of a skills training program
for nursing assistants and home health aides preparing for the
state exam and a career in the health care field. ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS Provide direct classroom and laboratory instruction for
students as well as supervision of instruction by teaching staff.
Follow established curriculum and make modifications needed for
students, ensuring that training adheres to DPH/DPL standards and
best educational practices. Maintain ongoing knowledge of the
requirements for an individual to be eligible to become a NA/HHA
under the Mass Department of Public Health regulations for NA/HHA
training and communicate this information to students. Ensure the
tracking of daily attendance and its entry information into program
database(s). Assess skill level and knowledge acquisition of
students on a continuing basis with observation and testing;
including studentproficiencyin nursing assistant core skills,
completing documentation of the date when the skill
wasdemonstratedon the checklist. Complete progress reports at mid
and end points of training utilizing information from quizzes and
the nursing assistant core skills checklist and document in the
students’ files. Provide clinical practicum training in a long-term
home care facility for students, ensuring that patients’ plan of
care and safety ismaintainedthroughout the process. Provide
supportive assistance, advice, mentoring, and role modeling as
appropriate to students and instructors. Maintain current nursing
licensure. Work is performed in an office, classroom and congregate
care facility with the use of medical props and office technology.
Standing, sitting, walking, pushing and pulling equipment are among
the daily physical functions of the position. Participate in
regular meetings with the Director and Vice President, as well as
attend internal and external meetings and trainings as required.
Travel to nursing homes and other local locations as needed.
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and exercise good
decision making. Hire and supervise instructors, including the
completions of an annual performance appraisal. Provide
supplemental and make up classes as necessary. Participate in
screening, intake, and orientation of students in conjunction with
other program staff. Other tasks and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS A current Massachusetts Nursing License in good
standing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with educational
experience requirements outlined per Massachusetts state law.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge in allied health training and
in workforce development with target population of economically
disadvantaged adults and youth. Previous teaching experience
required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with
sensitivity to the needs of multicultural/multilingual students and
the ability to support individual learning styles and levels. Prior
related experience working in a nursing facility required. Interest
in supporting students to reach their maximum ability. Bilingual
skills a plus. Strongwriting and typing skills with attention to
detail. Proficient computer skills and user experience with
Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Outlookas well as
videoconferencing platforms Zoom and Teams. Ability to work a
schedule required to meet the needs of the program. Ability to push
or pull with assistive devices. Our benefits are competitive and
